Thankfulness
In this section I will be talking about my Spiritual growth and some practices and Bible verses that have helped me along the way.
I am sitting here looking out my window at an incredible sunrise. The colors are so vivid. It makes me think that I am not always thankful enough for God’s blessings in my life.
1 Chronicles 16:34
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
The last few years I have had so many ups and downs, I can not imagine not having a church family to help me through these times. The love, the prayers, the accountability, the encouragement, the teachings, have helped me to grow as a believer and a person. Meeting with these sweet, godly people once a week, has been so helpful in my journey with God.
If you are a Christian and do not currently have a church you are attending, I strongly urge you to find one. It took me a while to find my current church, but once I did, my spiritual life was greatly enhanced. It is just too hard to be faithful on your own.
Reading the Bible regularly brings so much more clarity, strengthens my faith, and I believe the more I read, the closer I come to Jesus. My women’s group has been listening to a podcast recently that has been so simple, but so interesting, Let’s Read the Gospels with Annie F. Downs (https://www.anniefdowns.com/letsreadthegospels) . She reads the gospels in different translations, and starts with different books. I recommend her website too, http://www.anniefdowns.com .
What are you thankful for today?
I pray you all have a blessed week.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
** My next post will focus on prayer
