Travel Accessories

As we’ve been preparing for our trip, I have been reviewing different travel accessories I love.

Compression Cubes

Found a great brand, Gonex. The largest can accommodate 4 of Pete’s Gap jeans (Pete’s 6’5”)! You must purchase the kind with the second zipper, as it allows the cube to compress further (I sat on mine). I was also able to put 4 long dresses, 2 short dresses, and 2 jackets in one large cube. 2 shawls, 5 pants, and 7 tops, in another cube. See pictures below.

Toiletry Containers

I really like the LiquiSnugs brand because they’re made of silicone and include a suction cup on the back. Plus, I haven’t seen any leakage.

Cell Phone Portable Charger

I really like Anker brand. It features 20,000 mAh, which my guru tells me can fully charge my phone at least 5 times. It weighs in at only 12.5 oz, and isn’t the lightest weight portable charger, but the lighter the weight, the less charges you get. Looking forward to being able to charge my phone inside my purse while I’m on the go in Italy.

Toothpaste replacement

Bite is the brand I recommend. These are toothpaste bits. You pop one in your mouth, bite down, and brush with a wet toothbrush twice a day, every day!

Flushable travel wipes

Stall Mates is the brand I like. They’re hypoallergenic, have no added alcohol.

Body towel

Portawipes makes compressed tissues, which are the size of a large pill. Just add water and it expands into a 9.5 x 9.5 towel. There are 10 in a pack. These are great to refresh if you’re sweaty and want to towel off your arms, neck, face, etc. Great for hikers. Will use this at Cinque Terre.

Hand soap to go

I like Soap Thins brand. These are really thin strips of soap and they smell wonderful. 100 come in a tiny pack. They’re also cruelty free, eco-friendly, and vegan!

Apple Airtags

These are great for tracking lost luggage. They’re a small white device that lets you see the location of your bag. I bought a 4 pack (regularly $99, I got for $89 on Amazon.com). 1 will go in our checked bag, 1 in each carry-on, and 1 in my purse. As soon as you remove the plastic strip, the Airtag automatically pairs to your phone, you can give it a name, and that’s it! To track your lost bag/airtag, go to the “Find My” app (included on every iPhone), then tap “Items” at the bottom. My list comes up as “checked bag”, “Pete’s carry-on”, “Linda’s carry-on”, and “Linda’s purse.” I also wrote in sharpie on each Airtag which Airtag is which. See them in my picture below — it’s amazing how small these are. My best friend used these on a trip to London and Portugal last year and saw that there luggage stayed in the states!

Hand Sanitizer spray

Everyone brand is a great choice for hand sanitizer spray on the go. I bought peppermint & citrus scent, but lavender and other scents are available. I love it because it doesn’t dry out your hands. Rated 93/100 (excellent) on Yuka.

The perfect toiletry container

I bought Optix 55 brand contact lens variety pack. It includes 12 contact lens keepers in different colors, which are perfect for lotions, serums, sunscreen, makeup.

1 pair of Pete’s Jeans — 4 fit in this pouch!
